Muhammed is a casual reader that learned the art as a child. During elementary school, Muhammed was introduced to reading as a priority by his teachers. He eventually grew off that initial knowledge and developed his reading abilities throughout his adolescence. This included above average reading assigned by his teachers and even voluntary reading. The main reason why reading is important is that it allows a person to learn. Learning is extremely significant to the growth of not only one's self, but for humanity as a whole. Muhammed, and many others like him, learned many different subjects and ideas by reading which was then carried on and implemented into the real world. To be a decent reader, one must practice. Muhammed practiced occasionally which increased his reading speed and developed his reading memory. This can be quite the tedious task because reading is not necessarily fast. A person does not simply read a full book in 5 minutes (although it is possible). To truly grasp the idea takes time and mental energy. Reading is easy for Muhammed because he follows a simple rule: enjoy what you read. If you like what you read and are constantly interested, reading will be easy for you. The most difficult part of reading is finding what you like. There is a plethora of options, and one cannot get a good understanding of a book without actually reading it (which takes time). Muhammed usually chooses his books meticulously by asking a friend or actually doing a quick research of the book. If the book is highly acclaimed, it is a must read. If not, Muhammed will still try to read the book, but there is a higher chance he will not like it as much. Regarding reading at home, he will read occasionally, but it really depends on the book.
Muhammed is an avid writer in a more unconventional way. He writes daily but usually when using technology. The conventional way of paper and pen is not used by Muhammed outside of school, but he still enjoys writing. Typing today has developed into the major way of writing, and society is slowing moving towards teaching typing rather than penmanship. Although typing will surpass writing, the art of ink and paper will continue on forever. People write to express themselves, and more importantly, set their ideas on a sheet that can hypothetically last forever which passes those ideas to further generations. To write well, a person must practice, practice, and practice. Eventually a person will write thinking less and less, leading to a better understanding of organizing one's thoughts to paper. Muhammed likes to write various genres of writing such as non-fictional, creative, and thought-provoking writings. He decides what he will write by his experiences and thoughts at that certain time. Maybe there is a constant thought running through his mind that he will write about. To him, it all depends on the current situation and what he has learned from his previous experiences. Like Muhammed, many people make mistakes while writing which has developed into the importance of editing and criticism. Responses that are critical but still fair and respectful of one's opinions benefits the writer the most. Muhammed writes frequently online to other internet users on websites and applications. Overall, Muhammed feels quite positively of his writings in-school and out of it. He is usually confident and enjoys expressing his thoughts. Although this is the case, he may feel uneasy when writing specific ideas or prompts that he cannot connect himself to.
